Please read our Procedures for Entering the Studio:
When entering the studio please follow these steps to ensure the safety of you, our clients and ourselves
- Make sure your mask is on
- Knock on the door and an employee will greet you. Please allow the employee time to make sure their Personal Protective Equipment is on correctly and they have sanitized their hands
- As you come into the studio, please stop and sanitize your hands following the directions posted

Dolly's Skin Art Tattoo COVID-19 Safety Plan
We have reviewed industry-specific protocols from WorkSafeBC and Interior Health Authority to create four levels of protection.
First level protection (elimination)
- All employees and clients are in good health
- One client in the studio at a time (minors must be accompanied by guardian for the initial check-in only before the tattoo)
- We are open via appointment only
- Appointments will be staggered for cleaning
- Consultations will be encouraged to be online or by phone
- Magazines and other such items have been removed
We will be making sure that all employees and clients are not experiencing any signs of COVID-19, waiting for results from a COVID-19 test, have not travelled internationally for 14 days, are self isolating or have had any contact with someone who is experiencing any signs of COVID-19, waiting for results from a COVID-19 test, has travelled internationally in the last 14 days or is self isolating at the time of the booking.
Only one client in the studio at a time. We ask that you please come alone to all appointments. The exception being minors who must still be accompanied by their parent or guardian for the initial check-in only.
We have prohibited walk-ins and are operating by appointment only.
All appointments will be staggered to ensure the employees have enough time between clients for the added cleaning procedures.
We encourage all consultations to take place online or by phone. If needed, we will do in-person consultations for anyone unable to complete one online.
All magazines/artwork and extra furniture have been removed to help control the spread of COVID-19.
Second level protection (engineering)
- Upon entering, clients and employees are to put on a face mask and sanitize their hands
- Clients are required to store their belongings in a sterilized bin
- All signage regarding COVID-19 procedures will be posted on the front door
- Food and drink are not allowed in the procedure room
- Employees to follow strict cleaning guidelines
- PPE will be worn by the artist
- No tattoos that required any PPE to be removed
- If employee becomes sick, we will close
Upon entering the studio, we require all clients and employees to wear a face mask and to sanitize their hands. If you do not have a mask, one will be provided for you. Once sanitized, we ask that your personal items are place into a sanitized bin before we continue.
All signage regarding COVID-19 procedures will be posted on the front door and around the studio.
Please keep all food and drink in the waiting area.
Once a client has vacated the premises, a strict cleaning routine will commence. Please see cleaning section.
Personal protection equipment will be worn by the artist. This may include, but is not limited to, masks; gloves; aprons and arm covers. These items may be worn to stop any possible contaminants from getting on the artists clothing. A new set of PPE will be used for each appointment.
Disposable items will be disposed of at the end of each appointment.
Any tattoo that requires the face mask to be removed will not be done at this time.
IF AN EMPLOYEE STARTS TO FEEL ANY SYMPTOMS OF COVID-19, WE WILL BE FORCED TO CLOSE
Third level protection (administrative)
- All employees have been versed in the new rules
- All employees must wear gloves and mask when clients are present
- Tattoo artist must wear mask, gloves when tattooing a client
- Receptionist has limited contact with the client
- Receptionist must wear face shield when not behind barrier while client present
- When the client departs, all employees know that the studio goes through a full disinfection
All employees are trained in the new guidelines for the studio.
All employees must wear face masks and gloves while clients are present. The receptionist must wear a face shield.
The tattoo artist must wear a face mask and gloves while tattooing the client.
The receptionist has limited contact with the client and must wear a face shield when not behind a barrier while the client is present.
All employees know to do a full sanitization of the studio once client has left.
Fourth level protection (using masks)
- We have reviewed the information on selecting and using masks
- We understand the limitations of masks or other PPE
- We have trained all employees to use PPE properly, following the manufacturers instructions for use and disposal
- All employees will wear PPE, all clients will wear masks
Upon entering the studio, we require all clients and employees to wear a face mask. Please do not forget to bring your face mask to your appointment.

A new mask will be used for each appointment. Disposable items will be disposed of at the end of each appointment.

Surface transmission risk reduction (cleaning and hygiene)
- Appointments will be staggered to facilitate the cleaning guidelines
- Forms to be signed online or at home to reduce time spent in studio
- All items will be wiped down between clients (pens, counters, debit machine, etc.)
- Unnecessary tools and equipment have been removed
All employees are responsible for cleaning the studio.
All surfaces are cleaned in between clients and high contact areas are disinfected multiple times during the day (doorknobs, light switches, debit machine, counters, tables, and chairs). This is an added procedure to current sterilization schedules.
The studio will have two hand sanitization stations. One in the waiting area and one in the procedure room.
